Q: Why should I buy your mount?

Q: How does the camera/camcorder ball mount to my camcorder?
A: Both of the two balls available have a 1/4-20 threaded stud that you would screw into the bottom of your device (where you would atach the device to a tripod, etc.)

Q: Which camera ball should I use?
A: The ball without the round flange as part of the base can be used for small cameras or where space is restricted. For heavier cameras and camcorders use the ball with the flanged base on it.

Q: Which arm length should I choose?
A: The shortest arm will reduce the leverage of the device mounted on it and reduce camera shake. The longer arm may be necessary to locate the camera in the desired position on your bike. Also the more upright the mounting position the less the camera shake.

Q: Can I use the same mount for different devices?
A: Yes! Let's say you bought a handlebar assembly with a camcorder mount. You could attach your GPS unit or radar detector by simply switching out the camera ball for one of the other cradle assemblies shown on our "build your own page". Also if you like to shoot video from say a steering stem mount and sometimes rear facing from a rear footpeg all you need are the two different parts for attaching to the bike. You can use the same arm and camera ball for both. Switching between the two mounting location takes just a few seconds.

Q: What is the RAM lifetime warranty??
A: RAM products carry a lifetime warranty against material defects (it does not cover breakage from crashes etc). Warranty claims and questions should be made directly to RAM.

Q: Where can I use a suction cup mount on my motorcycle?
A: The suction cup needs a flat surface to seal properly. The suction cup itself is very strong and is 3 3/8" diameter. On our test Honda CBR 1000 there was a large enough flat spot at the front of the fuel tank to install and made a great place for a GPS or Ipod.

Q: How come my steering stem mount doesn't fit flush with the triple clamp like the photo? I followed the instructions exactly.
A: The instructions provided by RAM leave a bit to be desired. Once you have cut the "plug" out of the rubber stock per the instructions you will need to trim the large diameter end until you can push the plug far enough into the steering stem hole to get the desired result. Go slow and trim just a little at a time and testing your work as you go so you don't remove too much material and have to start over with a new stem mount.
